Sleep Apnea Questionaire

Sleep apnea is a common disorder affecting millions of Americans.
Patients with sleep apnea stop breathing intermittently during the night
due to snoring and obstruction of the upper airways. They commonly
experience symptoms of snoring, frequent awakenings during the
night, morning headaches, and daytime fatigue. If left untreated, sleep apnea can lead to heart disease, worsening high blood pressure, and decreased productivity during the day due to fatigue and sleepiness. The following questionnaire is a screening test to help patients and their physicians determine if a person is at risk for sleep apnea.

Do you snore at night?
Does anyone in your family notice that you stop breathing on occasions at night?
Do you often wake up with headaches?
Do you wake up frequently during the night?
Are you overweight?
Do you suffer with hypertension or cardiac disease?
Do you feel fatigued or sleepy during the day?

If you answered yes to three of the seven questions above, you may suffer from sleep apnea.
